IF YOU HAVE ANY KSML AIRCHECK TAPES, SEND ME AN MP3!!!

August 31, 1976: A 15-minute AIRCHECK OF BABA O'LEAR's show, assisted by Todd Tolces and John Apicella, just at sign-off. Why the ordinarily 24-hour KSML was signing off then signing back on at 6am on this particular night I have no idea.
One of our all-time favorite STATION IDs, produced by Barry Everitt.
From the very first SECRET MORNING LAB show, French chef Liver Pate visits hosts Rose Waters and Ed Hamilton, teaching listeners how to prepare TURKEY FOR BREAKFAST. "Strawberry Bob" Hayes, Kathy Keeley and John Apicella, March 25, 1975.

I have a few hours' worth of cassette versions of radio plays, Secret Mountain Morning shows, ads and station IDs. I'll put them up as I get the time to do the transfers to MP3.

Believe it or not, I've held on to two big boxes full of reel-to-reel tapes from the Lab which I never dubbed down to cassette because I didn't have a good tape deck in my home. I'm looking for the loan of a good stereo deck that can play 5" and 7" reels, as well as 10" open-hub reels. If I could get my hands on one of those for a couple of months, I could save these tapes (assuming they're still in playable condition -- it's been over 30 years!). I've even got a couple of 4-track 1/2" reels -- Wish me luck finding a machine to play those! Anyway, if anyone has a good pro-quality deck somewhere in Southern California, let me know! -- JOHN
